THE LOCAL BREW IS HERE!
Does anyone else enjoy a beer or two while getting a few chores done around the house? We can find just about any reason to dig into a six pack, so maybe the not-so-obvious combination of laundry and beer came from something more than just a great way to enjoy laundry day.
Local Laundry is a clothing brand that was inspired by the pride people take in the place they call home, from the cities there were raised, to the neighbourhood communities they become more familiar with each day. Local Laundry’s set out to help connect and build community by using local designers, as well as promoting local businesses and photographers to help Albertans get to know each other a little bit more. What’s better than introducing Albertan communities to one another? Offering 10% of their profits back into the community, they’ve worked with charities and donated money to the Calgary Drop In-Centre, The Calgary Food Bank, The Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter, Canadian Red Cross, Accessible Housing, and Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society (AARCS).
As a brewery that’s seen Alberta grow as much as we have over the last 25 years, we know the importance of getting to know our community over good stories, good people, and good beer. We knew that teaming up with Local Laundry would be the perfect fit, helping Albertans get to know neighbouring communities over a pint of our Local Brew.
Local Brew is a beer that is 50% wheat malt, amber malt from local malting house, Red Shed Malting, Mandarina and Bavaria hops for a citrus flavour, and Sorachi Ace hops for a lemon finish. See if you can taste the spicey wheat and the depth of Red Shed Malting for a unique amber, malt wheat beer that adheres to no style guide lines. Get the beer on draught and in a bomber, so you can take one (or a few) back to the place you call home.
Calgary and Edmonton’s community is one to celebrate and if your love is as strong for your city as it is for craft beer, grab an exclusive Local Laundry collaboration shirt at a Brewsters location near you. 10% of all t-shirt and bomber sales will be donated to Comrie’s Sports Equipment Bank to help get sports equipment into the hands of the youth of Alberta, that would otherwise be denied the opportunity to participate in sports.
